Which filter is right for my hearing aid?

The right cerumen filter protects your hearing aid's sound outlet from earwax and dirt. What matters is the exact filter system of your hearing aid or hearing device, not just the brand. Here you will find out how to choose the right version and avoid ordering the wrong one.

How to find the right filter system

1. Check the designation on your current filter packaging and in your hearing aid's manual.
2. Note down the exact hearing aid model and, if applicable, the designation of the hearing device. Different filter systems can be used within the same brand.
3. Compare the full filter designation with the product offered. Similar names do not automatically mean they are interchangeable.
4. If the assignment is unclear, have it checked before ordering. Bring your hearing aid and the current filter packaging to the specialist store.

• Oticon ProWax – 6 pieces and Oticon ProWax miniFit – 6 pieces: two different filter systems, do not select based on the brand alone.
• Oticon NoWax – 6 pieces: only order if the NoWax assignment is confirmed.
• Signia Quick Guard – 8 pieces: check the required Quick Guard system.
• Phonak CeruShield Disk V2.0 – 8 pieces: described in the product range for compatible SDS-4.0 hearing devices, not for SDS 3.0. The exact hearing device assignment remains crucial.

• Audio Service HF3: Black/Red right or Black/Blue left, 16 pieces each. Do not confuse HF3 and HF4.

Can I choose the filter by appearance or diameter?

Not reliably. A filter that looks similar may belong to the wrong system. Use exclusively the version intended for your exact device and hearing device model and the corresponding replacement tool.

When should I replace the cerumen filter?

Follow the specifications of your hearing aid manufacturer and the recommendations of your hearing aid specialist. If the volume decreases, a dirty filter may be a possible cause; this does not provide a definitive diagnosis. If the function remains limited after the prescribed care, have the device checked. Do not force a filter in or pierce it with a needle.
